Tools Needed to Make this Homemade Hummus Recipe…
As mentioned earlier, this entire recipe is super simple. So naturally, to make homemade hummus it requires minimal tools. Everything I’ve listed below will help you achieve the silky gluten-free and dairy-free texture this treat is known for! See the list below…
- Blender (I used my Vitamix linked here!)
- Colander (Something to use to rinse your Chickpeas in)
- Spatula
- A container to store the hummus in (Obviously!)
Ingredients Needed to Make The Homemade Hummus Recipe…
So now that you can see it’s really not going to require much labor on your end, what are the ingredients?? See the list below…
- 1 and 1/4 cups of cold water
- 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 1 tbsp of Tahini
- 3 cans of chickpeas
- Everything But the Bagel Seasoning (Optional, but recommended.)
- Accent Seasoning (Optional.)
- Garlic Powder (Optional but recommended.)
- Onion Powder (Optional but recommended.)
For all seasonings I suggest for you to just measure with your heart. I tend to use quite a bit of the Everything But the Bagel seasoning because it’s blended in and used as a topping.
Now Let’s Make Some Homemade Hummus!
You truly are going to laugh when I say, literally put all the ingredients in the blender and blend it. That’s basically it… HOWEVER, there is one crucial step that cannot be forgotten… MAKE SURE YOU RINSE YOUR CHICKPEAS FIRST! If you don’t rinse them before blending it will completely throw off the ENTIRE taste and honestly its not a pleasant bite.
Once your chickpeas are washed put them in the blender, add the cold water, olive oil and lemon juice. Don’t forget the Tahini (I HIGHLY recommend this brand.) Throw in whatever seasonings you desire, I personally choose the Everything But The Bagel Seasoning, Onion Powder, and Garlic Powder, and then blend away! It’s really that simple!
Once you’re done blending, refrigerate until cold and enjoy!
It’s as simple as that!
I’m a sucker for a good hummus, I can’t help it! Let me know if you have any other good dip recipes or if you try this one! I love to hear your feedback and any suggestions you may have! Until next time…
