Positive self talk affirmations are something that everyone should be practicing. In a world full of negativity, it’s important to remember to treat yourself with some grace, not the ladder. Positive self talk doesn’t just happen overnight, it’s something that you need to work at and grow with. It’s a mindset that can drastically affect your daily life and experiences.

Why Positive Self Talk Affirmations Though?
It’s that famous saying, “Practice makes perfect”. Although I think the statement should really be “Practice makes progress”. It’s the meaning behind it. If you consistently surround yourself with negativity and talk down on yourself, how are you ever going to fulfill your personal expectations of “good” or “perfect”? I’ll let you in on a little secret… you’re not.
Just like you need to practice that new skill, or go to your sports practices, band practices, dance classes, etc. you need to practice positive self talk affirmations for your mental health. It can’t always be about how you physically train your body, you need to also mentally train by training your brain.
It’s Okay To Not Be Perfect…
NEWS FLASH… PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT…
NO ONE IS PERFECT…. Let me say it one more time for the people in the back…. YOU ARE NOT PERFECT, NO ONE IS…AND THAT’S OKAY!!!! It’s perfectly acceptable to be human, and if anyone tells you otherwise … let me talk to them, I got your back.
Like seriously, do you honestly think Thomas Edison made the light bulb on his first try… or Einstein never made a mistake… I would like to inform you that you’re absolutely lying to yourself if you believe that. The way I look at it is, it’s not about how many mistakes I’ve made, it’s about what I’ve learned from them and the perseverance that I’ve shown. Just like anything else in life, what you put into it, is what you will get out of it.

But Does it Really Work?
Well, does going to practice make you better at your sport? OF COURSE IT WORKS! The more times you say something out loud the more you condition your brain to actually believe it. Which is why positive self talk affirmations are so important. If you negatively talk to yourself every day for 27 years, you’re naturally going to have a negative outlook on life. But, if you change that narrative and stay consistent, you will start to see changes throughout your daily life.
Final Thoughts…
In life, there are always going to be a million reasons to be negative, but our job is to find that one to stay positive. Our kids, family, and peers around us all feed off of our energy. That’s why it’s so important to show that you respect yourself and that you want to lead by example. Positivity is a mindset that you choose. Above all, always remember that you are stronger than you think, and you are worth it. I believe in you, now you have to believe in yourself!
